One of the most cost-effective business models you could ever start is a reselling business.
A reselling business model is a reliable income generator, but it all boils down to attracting the right customers for your products. After all, your customers are the most important factor in generating your income.
Great products + the right customers = Massive profits in sales.
Attracting the right audience for your items can be a huge pain, especially when only relying on traditional forms of marketing.
Gone are the days when people rely heavily on traditional marketing. Thanks to the internet, we can reach a wider audience and narrow down the target customers for our business simply by building an online presence.
With that, you get the following benefits when reselling online:
- Minimize operational costs
- Reach a much wider audience than with traditional marketing
- 100% scalable
- Higher margins and a better cash flow system when set correctly
- Can be trackable
So, in today’s post, I am going to be revealing 3 actionable tips & techniques that can grow your reseller business online in record time.
Let’s dive right in.
Leverage Video Marketing
Video marketing is dominating the internet space right now because they provide the most information within a shorter period of time.
And did you know that 68% of people often prefer to learn about new products simply by watching videos?
Here are some amazing states to prove that for you:
93% of brands got their customers due to videos posted on their social media profiles, according to HubSpot.
80% of video marketers reveal video was the no. 1 reason their sales increased.
30% of marketers consider video marketing as part of their marketing budget.
Now you get the gist.
So how can you use these marketing tactics as an advantage to your reseller business? Before you think that your reselling business is “too different” to use these tactics that work for other businesses, think again. If video works, it works. You just have to get creative with how you present your content.
By Simply Making Product Review Videos
You can’t ignore this part. It can make a break to the overall success of your business.
Think of this from your customer’s perspective:
Before buying a particular product, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Product review? Of course not.
Your potential customers always look for video reviews about a product or item before buying, and where is the best place they go for answers? YouTube!
YouTube is the most powerful video search engine on the planet. With over 2 billion users active on its platform, making it a reliable place to dive into your customer’s persona.
With a review video, you are building trust between you and your customers because they can see the real you (sincerity), like you, and trust you.
As statistically proven, 90% of customers buy from those they trust.
Is there any other form of marketing that can build trust easily with your customers without having to show your face? I don’t think so.
Video marketing is the best and easiest way to build trust for your business.
And the good part: You can start leveraging it right away even if you are on a zero-dollar budget
So here is how to get started:
Create a YouTube channel for your brand.
Take review videos about the products you want to sell.
Drop a link or a medium of communication where your customers are to buy from you if they are interested in that product.
Bonus Resources: Here is how to rank your video on YouTube’s first page so your customers can easily find you (a step-by-step case study).
For a reseller, this may not be applicable to just one product. Our products are ever-changing. But your business isn’t going anywhere. Showcase the types of products you like to sell. Show them what they can expect to see in your online store. Maybe even show a couple of products that you have on hand, the kinds of products you love to source and are knowledgeable about!
Blogging
About 8.5 billion searches are being processed on Google every single day. Do you know what that means and how it relates to your reseller’s business?
Now here is what you need to know:
Imagine if a fraction of that population were your potential customers, you will have more money than you could have imagined.
And can I explain?
When I search on Google for the phrase “best protein powder for weight gain”
What do we see down below?
As shown, we got a list of blog rankings on Google’s first page for the phrase “Best Protein Powder for Weight Gain”.
So, when I put the same phrase we typed on Google into the keyword planner, I got this as well:
And what does that mean? From 10k to 100k people search for that phrase on Google every single month.
10k to 100k also means 10k to 100k potential customers.
Now imagine if your blog were the one Google is listing on their search results based on those keywords.
Isn’t that going to naturally give you more potential customers?
In fact, you put in the work and customers keep rolling in every day without you having to look for them.
Awesome, isn’t it? Google does the advertisement for you for free.
That’s how powerful blogging can be and there is a whole lot to blogging that I simply cannot cover in one article.
But the reality behind it is creating ab log around the products you want to promote and optimizing it for Google through SEO, and then Google puts you on the first page.
In other words, you write descriptive and informative articles about the products you want to sell, and Google shows these articles to people who are searching for them.
And the great part is that Google loves to rank blogs that answer people’s questions.
When your blog articles provide information the audience needs, you get that ranking and both parties win.
As easy as it may sound, it requires a series of practice, time, and effort before you can achieve those sets of results.
To get started:
– Buy and host a domain
– Install the most necessary plugins for SEO
– Start publishing content
– Rinse and repeat.

And when it comes to blogging, then you should have it in the back of your mind that you are going to be writing content either good or bad.
But what if I don’t have time? What if I’m an unbelievably bad writer? You can check out these posts on how to start a blog without having to write all by yourself.
So, let’s move on to the last section on our list:
Social Media
Are you listing your business on Facebook and Instagram and making short TikTok videos about it?
No? Then you are missing out on a lot of opportunities that can fetch you customers.
With over 4.2 billion users on social media, a lot of your potential customers are spending time on these platforms, and you need a social profile to be able to connect with them.
And there are many social media platforms out there, but they vary based on their area of specialization, while some can be general.
For example, if it requires you to make a reel video about your products, try TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
If it’s content about physical items (clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc.) then you can try on Pinterest as well. Pinterest is a great marketing medium with over 422 million users and works organically and is recognized by search engines, making it easy to rank on Google as well.
It is in your best interest to choose platforms that suit your target objectives and where your customers are spending time on.
Now It’s Your Turn.
Which of these actionable strategies are you going to try first? Or have you already tried doing it for your business?
Are you using social media or leveraging both YouTube and blogging as a method of creating awareness of your products?
Whichever way, I will see you in the comments.
